Superior Essex Communications, the leading manufacturer and supplier of communications cable in North America, is proud to announce that it has recently been elected as a corporate board member of the Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI).
Superior Essex Communications initially became a member organization of GeSI in February 2020. As an industry leader known for its sustainable manufacturing practices and sustainable cabling products, the company heeded the call to join in order to help address some of the most urgent, digital sustainability challenges of the 21st century across the globe, such as delivering on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
Beginning in October 2020, Superior Essex Communications will proudly serve in this board member capacity alongside an equally impressive cohort of corporate members, one that includes prominent companies such as AT&T, Deutsche Telekom, Huawei, T-Mobile and Verizon. Together, the GeSI board will drive the organization’s strategy and direction, as well as continue their ambitious sustainability work across the information, communication and technology (ICT) sector. These member companies will serve a three-year, renewable mandate lasting from 2020 through 2023.
Brad R. Johnson, President, Superior Essex Communications, will be representing the company on the GeSI Board. “We are very honored to serve as a board member of GeSI,” Johnson said. “As an industry-leading telecommunications manufacturer and supplier, we take immense pride in our own sustainable products and processes. However, by working with GeSI alongside other ICT companies and organizations also operating sustainably around the world, we have a great opportunity in front of us. We can make an even bigger impact on global sustainability in the realm of advanced digital technologies through collaboration, transparency and resource sharing.”
Luis Neves, CEO and Managing Director, GeSI, said that the organization welcomes a board member like Superior Essex Communications with open arms. “As we continue to advance GeSI’s ambitious mission of creating a smarter, more sustainable world with digital solutions at its core, we are extremely proud and honored to have an impressive collection of leaders in the ever-growing ICT and sustainability sectors,” Neves said. “Furthermore, we are thrilled to have a company like Superior Essex Communications, a leader in its industry sector, join as a Board Member.
