Paul Weintraub of Superior Essex Communications Named as Secretary for APOLAN Board of Directors

Atlanta, GA – Paul Weintraub, head of international business for Superior Essex Communications, was voted as secretary of the board of directors of APOLAN, a non-profit supporting the growth and education of the optical local area network (LAN) industry, at its annual meeting in February. Superior Essex, a leading fiber cabling manufacturer, became a member of APOLAN in 2022 to align with other industry drivers.

Weintraub was one of three new directors elected to the board at the organization’s annual meeting. The newly installed board appointed him secretary at their first meeting. He plans to leverage his extensive experience in international sales to boost the organization’s reach in the Middle East and Latin America regions.

“I am honored to be the new secretary of this future-thinking organization. This allows me to bring decades of industry knowledge and contacts to the optical LAN industry as well as bring back new ideas to the Superior Essex team,” said Weintraub. “By joining APOLAN, Superior Essex now sits at a table with other companies that want to create a better-connected built environment everywhere, and I hope to be able to use my network to grow APOLAN into new markets.”

APOLAN is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and boasts more than 24 member manufacturers, distributors, integrators and consulting companies. They work together for the common goal of supporting the growth and education of optical LAN. In 2023, the organization plans to work with accrediting bodies to provide masterclass-style continuing education courses as well as informative webinars throughout the year.

Through its membership in APOLAN, Superior Essex Communications can expand its mission to educate the building industry on sustainable intelligent buildings and converged networks. Specifically, optical fiber LANs can meet the current and future demands of increased data consumption and bandwidth demands. Furthermore, this allows the company to collaborate with other sustainability-minded companies to build a better future for the planet and its people.
